he said the new measures may cause some temporary inconvenience, but they had been initiated by the concerned for better protection of important public institutions. both the lawyers and litigants have begun to appreciate the measures taken, he added. meanwhile, while most of the lawyers accept that the changed situation called for greater security awareness and measures, whose implementation had given a new look to the patna high court, members of the bar association, one of the three associations of lawyers in the patna high court, at their meeting held on last friday, had expressed resentment over the measures taken. they pleaded that these measures had inconvenienced its members. some of them felt that the security could be improved and ensured without being obtrusive. the advocates' association has also called for certain corrective measures for the benefit of lawyers. its secretary general yogesh chandra verma urged the high court administration to provide more space for parking of cars and scooters. a lawyer baidyanath prasad, however, felt that even more stringent security measures needed to be taken. he called for the introduction of metal detectors at all entry points and a pass system for cars and scooters on the pattern of the supreme court. another lawyer harinandan singh said frisking of lawyers, litigants and others should be introduced. a litigant gopal prasad singh said the court should show more concern for the comforts of litigants.
